PEARL HARBOR
Pearl Harbor, on the Island of O'ahu, Hawaii, was attacked by the Japanese Imperial Navy, at approximately 8:00 A.M., Sunday morning, December 7, 1941. The surprise attack had been planned by Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto. The striking force of about 400 Japanese aircraft was led by Commander Mitsuo Fuchida. There had been no formal declaration of war.
The Japanese attacked because they were just simply tired of all of the negotiations they were having with the U.S. The Americans were being bullies and telling them what they can and cannot do. Japan, instead of giving out demands of what they want, they went straight to a surprise attack on the U.S.'s aircraft carriers.
The aircraft attacked almost all of the aircraft carriers stationed at the harbor in Hawaii, they're goal was to destroy them at all cost, no matter what, they HAD to destroy them even if it killed them. Which is exactly what the did, Commander Mitsuo Fuchida made the soldiers promise to give their lives to the general. This lead to Kamikaze dive bombers.
Kamikaze dive bombers are honored Japanese pilots who literally flew their planes into whatever they possible could to make their lives have value. This happened during Pearl Harbor and the Japanese pilots flew their planes into the Aircraft carriers. This incident resulted in over 2000 casualties, 21 ships either sank or were fully destroyed and 188 U.S. aircraft were destroyed.
